Milton Keynes based trombonist Simon Baker studied music at Birmingham Conservatoire, and went on to attain a Masters in Performance at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. As an in-demand freelancer, he performs regularly with the country’s leading orchestras, opera houses and ballet companies including the London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC National Orchestra of Wales, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the English National Ballet. Simon is a regular deputy in many of London’s West End shows and can often be found in the orchestral pits of Matilda, Cabaret, Frozen, and Book of Mormon. Past musicals include Mary Poppins, Kinky Boots, War Horse, Shrek, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Lion King. Simon holds the position of visiting trombone teacher at Uppingham School and Magdalen College School, Oxford.
